The essential
— Caffiers train station
The station is on the Northern railway line between Calais and Boulogne. “A decree of the Prefect, dated July 31, 1862, orders that a special investigation be opened on the location of the stations which it is proposed to establish in the communes of: 1 Wimille, 2 Marquise, 3 Coffee trees. »
Construction of the line continued, approaching Caffiers in July 1863. Prices for journeys on the line from Boulogne to Caffiers in 1867 were advertised as follows: first class: 2.90 francs, second class: 2, 20 francs and in third class: 1.60 francs.
Given the resources of the region, the station served at least two freestone (marble) quarries during the years 1880-1890.
