The essential
— The Turkey Festival.
Introduced by the Premonstratensian monks of Licques Abbey in the 17th century, turkeys take the spotlight in these essential festivities on the region’s festive calendar. Tradition and authenticity permeate this celebration, particularly in December, where one can savor the Licques potée prepared in a cauldron by the breeders. Following this, both young and old will delight in following the procession of local brotherhoods, led by the turkey flock. The festivities will then continue with a dance meal to the rhythm of the accordion.
