The learning paths
Discovery from 5 years old
- Awakening/initiation
- Discovery workshops
The curriculum from 7 years old onwards, for teenagers and adults.
The EMIPO curriculum has been developed in accordance with the expectations of the National Pedagogical Orientation Scheme (Ministry of Culture – 2008) and the Departmental Schemes for the Development of Artistic Education (Pas-de-Calais Department – currently under revision).
Pursuing a course at EMI Pays d’Opale, similar to academies of music, entails active and regular participation in three components:
- Music Training (also known as ‘Solfège’),
- Instrumental Training (instrumental lessons),
- Collective Practice (Ensembles, Orchestras, interdisciplinary projects, etc.)
- Instrumental lessons
Music training
- First stage
- Second stage: “Classical” curriculum
“Contemporary music” curriculum – computer-assisted music
Instrumental training
- Instruments of Harmony: Flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba, bagpipe.
- Strings: Violin, viola, classical guitar.
- Keyboards: Piano (only as a second instrument), organ, accordion.
- Contemporary Music: Drums, percussion, vocal ensemble, keyboard ensemble (accessible from the second cycle), guitar ensemble (accessible from the second cycle).
- Traditional Instruments: Bagpipe.
Group practice
- Group Vocal Practice: Choir for Beginners, Teen/Adult Choir
- Group Instrumental Practice: Orchestra Class, Local Orchestras – Municipal Harmonies (Guînes and Ardres) – Licques Brass Band
- Contemporary Music: Contemporary Music Workshop, Recording Studio
Registrations
The registrations and re-registrations for the academic year 2023-2024 will open on Wednesday, August 23rd.
