Guînes (Giezene in Flemish) is a French commune located in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the Hauts-de-France region.
Its inhabitants are called Guinois.
The city of Guînes, formerly the capital of a county which was not without renown in history, is located on the slope of the plateau which separates Boulonnais from Calaisis, at the edge of the marshy plain, today perfectly cleansed , which extends to the shore of the sea.
